Sunglasses, They Make You Look Great!

All those people who have by mistake broken a costly pair of sunspecs, or ruined a lens while cleaning it are aware of the fact that it is truly important to provide appropriate care to your sunglasses to ensure you can use them for a long time.

The most considerable thing to do is use a carrying case for your shades. Hard cases will recommend more safety to your sunspecs, but a softer case is easier to carry as it takes up less room.

These cases protect sunglasses from getting broken while in bags, or getting scratched by items like keys and pens. Also, you can store sunglasses in a case when they are in the car to prevent them from heating up too much.

Use appropriate cleaning materials while cleaning the lens. Try and find a cleaning solution, or develop your own by using a light solution prepared from dishwashing liquid and water.

Use a soft cloth when cleaning the lens, and dip a small part of the cloth in the solution and use a light hand to rub this over the lens and wipe it off softly with a dry cloth after. If you have sunscreen or other marks on the sunglasses, use the same technique to remove these.

To clean the nose pads, since this is where the most dust accumulates, dunk the glasses in water and leave them there (making sure, of course, that water won’t harm the sunglasses like with a polarized pair). After a half hour in the water, the dirt will have softened and you can use an old toothbrush to brush away the dirt and gunk.

If your sunspecs have a plastic lens, keep them away from high temperatures as the plastic will get smashed because of heat.

If you have a polarized pair of sunglasses, make sure you keep them away from water, especially salt water, as the water can seep between the layers of plastic and destroy the lens. If these sunglasses get wet, dry them immediately and if you get salt water on them then use fresh water to rinse them and dry them out with a cloth.

Check your sunglasses frequently for loose screws or discoloration so that you can clean and fix them at the first sign of trouble. If the glass looks like it is not properly aligned, go to a professional to get it fixed and do not try to fix it at home or any warranty if you have will be void.

But even if you did not spend a lot of money you might like to take good care of sunglasses since it is not simple to find a pair that in fact suits you and you do not want to have to instigate the search again. With just a little bit of exertion, you can keep your sunglasses in great shape for years.
