Prescription eyeglasses are offered in many different designs for a number of uses. But regardless of the word “glasses” in the name, most of the lenses utilized in today’s prescription eyeglasses are basically made from plastic. In spite of the damaging connotations with the word “plastic,” lenses made from such materials are of a lighter weight and a great deal more tough than old-fashioned one made of real~actual glass.

The plastic lenses in prescription eyeglasses also bear a lot more advantageous optical properties than actual glass, believe it or not. Sunglasses work mainly as protective items and only secondly as decorations. There are however people who cannot buy a pair of sunglasses and enjoy them because they have special eye conditions. Hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism are just a few examples here. Prescription sunglasses could be a solution for improving sight and protecting eyes from the action of the UV radiation at the same time. Appraising your PD:

This measurement is the distance between the centre of your pupils that is measured in millimetres.

Opticians do not tend to give out this measurement as it encourages patients to buy their spectacles from them whereas you can buy cheap spectacles online or designer glasses at a fraction of the price online. It is commonly noted as one measurement like 60 (60mm) but could also be registered as R 29 L 31. Most online spectacle sellers are genuine. However, if you find one that claims to be selling 100% scratch resistant prescription glasses, then run a mile as they are lying to you. There is no such product available.
