Presbyopia And Your Eyes After Forty

Do you challenges seeing objects that are within arms reach? you may have hyperopia. But it may also be presbyopia. The truth of the matter is the vision is similar but the causes are very different. As such, they have different treatments as well.

Hyperopia, or farsightedness, occurs when the light rays that enter the eye do not focus directly on the retina, but in fact, they focus behind it. This is caused when the length of the eye itself is shorter than it should be. Hyperopia, similar to myopia, can occur at any age. Children sometimes outgrow this condition because their eyes grow as they do. But if they do not, hyperopia can be treated with corrective lenses, either glasses or contact lenses. For mild hyperopic corrections a pair of readers can offer better vision. Laser surgery, such as LASIK, is also an option.

Eye Makeup After Lasik!

LASIK, or “laser-assisted inside situ keratomileusis,” is the most familiar refractive surgery practice. Refractive surgeries, including LASIK, reshape the cornea to correct distorted vision often eliminating the need for glasses or contacts.

Higher-order aberrations are visual problems not captured inside a traditional eye exam. Inside a young healthy eye, the level of higher-order aberrations are typically low and insignificant. Concern has long plagued the tendency of refractive surgeries to induce higher-order aberration not correctible by accepted contacts or glasses. The progression of lasik method and technologies has helped eliminate the risk of clinically significant visual impairment after the surgery.

Prescription Sunglasses

Sunglasses are very popular by variety of ages, even the best fashion brands have their own sunglasses colletions… Why prescription sunglasses?
Sunglasses work mainly as protective items and only secondly as decorations. There are however people who cannot buy a pair of sunglasses and enjoy them because they have special eye conditions. Hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism are just a few examples here. The solution for such cases is to be found in prescription sunglasses designed to match exactly the same features of the regular glasses but with ultraviolet protection. The UVB rays cause sunburn while the UVA rays get absorbed by the human eye lens.
