Sunglasses, They Make You Look Great!

It’s never easy sitting down to review a pair of sunglasses, especially when what counts as a good pair can mean so many different things to different people, but we’ve made it a bit easier. Instead of reviewing a pair of sunglasses against someone else’s and weighing up the pros and cons, we simply chose to review one pair of glasses that come in many different flavours.

Given the scope of this test, it won’t surprise you to know we have chosen the exceptionally popular Oakley Scalpel range with its 9 different variations. Oakley sunglasses are renowned the world over for producing high quality, performance glass wear and the scalpel is no exception.

There is a great deal of choice across the range with different versions of black, white, brown and dark grey being available just for the frames. Of all the glasses here, the white chrome are probably the most striking, but the brand new Ducati signature are even more stylish thanks to the flashes of red on the logo and frame ends.

Lenses vary across the range too, from a bright red (found on the Dark Grey set) to a bluey purple on the White chromes and the more ordinary dark and tinted, so you should have no problem choosing your ideal sunglasses.

Oakley have once again used some odd marketing to name their trademarked engineering of the frames, but ignoring the silly name, the glasses fit perfectly and although lightweight, feel really strong at the same time. Thanks to the stuff Oakley has put on the ends of the frames, you won’t be losing these babies from your head, even in the toughest of sports action.

As you will have come to expect for designer glasses of this quality, the optics are superb and protect you eyes from all the harmful stuff, including blue light too. Oakley also ensures they comply fully with all current ANSI standards.

You may not have heard of HDO or High Definition Optics, but ignoring the marketing blurb for a moment, it simply means you are getting some of the finest glasses on the market and yet still shouldn’t be paying more than £100.
